I wanted to post on introductions section but couldn't find it.

I'm an audio enthusiast from India and a member of an India centric online forum Hifivision. I've learnt about this group buy through one of our forum members.

Having heard them, Ive become a fan of them and dream of owning a Altec based hifi stereo setup.

I'm interested in picking up a pair of this gems. Please do count me in.

Don't figure that they will go that cheap. Also whomever we can get to pick these up/store/ship will want a cut, either of drivers or cash. Allen Shore is doing the organizing, but hopefully AB, and maybe even the folks at GPA will get involved.

No they won't go that cheap.I posted $5000+ +++ I'm thinking around $8-9000 maybe a bit more.. AA I'm already am.. I'm talking with Alien behind the scenes (PM's)...Personally I don't think Bill or GPA want to get involved.. They are interested in selling new stuff.So we are on our own in that regard... Also I don't think we should go any higher than $600-$750 a pair. I'm leaning towards $600 as we still have to figure in for shipping costs.After that it no longer becomes a great deal... But an average deal.. I think Alien has a good plan that he mentioned to me.. I'm just helping Alien I have to bow out of this as I don't really have the room or need them...

OK Now the most important part is collecting monies.. Whoever it is ? I don't want them putting out money from their own pocket before the money is collected..There is potential there for them to get stuck with a huge bill... Not going to Happen !!!!!!!! I also think whoever places the bid needs to have an auction sniper for you to win this at a good price.. Also the SHIPPING costs aren't included in this auction price..If you are fortunate to win it then the buyer will have to determine shipping costs to each participant and bill them for those costs accordingly...
I think it would be a good idea to exchange emails or phone #'s .Talking on the phone IMO is the best form of communication..This way there will be no misunderstandings of what was meant.Unless there are different languages involved..

Agreed, I also thought that we were asking GPA to go above and beyond. Do you think they would sell us the proper shipping boxes or is that even a problem? I need to go to OKC, could do the shipping if needed. I also have a powersnipe account. Any talk about how much money we are willing to pay should be done with PM's so we don't show our hand so to speak to the competition. Do we have buyers for all of them?
